Spartanburg Science Center
For a fun and educational activity with the kids, spend the day at the Spartanburg Science Center. Here kids can learn about topics including animals, robotics, weather, and outer space. With more than 23 exhibits, the center is packed with both live reptiles, amphibians and fish, as well as fossils, bones and rocks. Children will love the interactive displays and will have fun while they learn. During the reptile program, they can even pet and hold live snakes and other reptiles. There are also areas where they can build with Legos and interact with robotics. The Science Center is a great place for a school field trip, with programs for all ages. There is also a portable planetarium that can be brought to schools, or even your home, for an exciting, interactive view of the night sky. The Spartanburg Science Center is a great place to host a kid’s birthday party, and has special events for both kids and adults year-round.
The Spartanburg Little Theater
For a special night out with the family, buy tickets to one of the Spartanburg Little Theater’s amazing plays. The 2017 to 2018 season features shows like Legally Blonde and Guys and Dolls. While not all the plays are appropriate for all ages, there is a Youth Theater that puts on plays by kids, for kids. The young actors put on some memorable performances last year, including The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and James and the Giant Peach, Jr. This year they will be performing favorites like Rudolph and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The Youth Theater also offers acting classes and auditions for children who want to participate in the plays and pursue theater.
Glendale Outdoor Leadership School
The Glendale Outdoor Leadership School (GOLS) has tons of activities and training for both kids and adults. GOLS offers both private instruction and group trips for kayaking on the Pacolet River, as well as private mountain biking instruction. For a fun and challenging indoor activity, try their indoor rock climbing wall with over 1,000 square feet of climbing space. The gym can be reserved for groups for birthday parties or corporate leadership training. An experienced climbing instructor will always be available to assist and instruct climbers.
GOLS also has a low challenge course and a high challenge course for team building and leadership training for both kids and adults. The high challenge TreeTop Adventure Trail takes teams on high elements such as rope bridges and a giant swing that is both scary and exhilarating. The challenge courses are designed to enhance the cooperation and communication of the group in a fun and exciting environment. This is great for youth groups and kids sports teams, but is also a rewarding experience for business owners and their employees. My auto glass replacement Spartanburg SC company employees and I really enjoyed the high challenge course, and we have become a more efficient team as a result.
